Tele-health used by law enforcement

Law enforcement officers are equipped with technology that enables them to remotely video-conference with mental health professionals. Officers can then connect people in need with a mental health professional.

Local Examples

Harris County, TX Harris County Sheriff's Office

  • The Harris County Sheriff's Office equips patrol deputies with iPads to connect people in the community who may be experiencing a mental health crisis with mental health professionals, including clinicians and/or psychiatrists.
