Tele-health used by law enforcement
Law enforcement officers are equipped with technology that enables them to remotely video-conference with mental health professionals. Officers can then connect people in need with a mental health professional.

Harris County, TX Harris County Sheriff's Office
- The Harris County Sheriff's Office equips patrol deputies with iPads to connect people in the community who may be experiencing a mental health crisis with mental health professionals, including clinicians and/or psychiatrists.
- People who remain on scene and are not transported for treatment receive a follow-up call and/or face to face visit from The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD staff.
