Mental health professional embedded in probation department
Mental health professionals, either employed directly by the community supervision agency or on contract with a community-based behavioral health treatment provider, offer case management and treatment services for people on community supervision in partnership with community supervision officers.

- There are eight contracted clinicians and a prescriber embedded with the Mental Health Unit and the Women and Family Services Unit at the Multnomah County Department of Community Justice (DCJ).
- Treatment is prioritized by criminogenic risk level, prison transition status, and readiness to engage in treatment and services.
- DCJ is piloting a treatment readiness program to work with people who are not engaged with contracted treatment services or an outside treatment agency.
